What do you see in Disk Utility? Are you able to partition the SD card? It could be that the card reader is only SD compatible and you are using an SDHC card. This is what happened to me. The symptom is that the Finder says the card cannot be read and offers to initialize it, which subsequently fails. In Disk Utility, the card shows as a 2TB drive. (For what it's worth, 2TB is the maximal size of a disk that can be specified using an MBR partition table.) Here's my System Profiler output: Product ID: 0x6362 Vendor ID: 0x058f (Alcor Micro, Corp.) Version: 1.29 This reader works fine with a 2GB SD card, but not with the 8GB SDHC card I actually wanted to use it with. I have now bough a SanDisk Image Mate All-In-One Card Reader and it can read my 8GB SDHC card just fine. Good luck! Cheers, Sam ![]()
